As many of you may remember, during the AP#CP workshop in Vienna, last September, we have discussed the proposal for a Joint Discussion that we hope can be approved by the IAU, to be held during the next IAU General Assembly, in Rio, 2009. As agreed, the proposal was submitted to the IAU, in response to the call issued for letters of intent, with the deadline of September, 15. You can download the proposal at:

The deadline for submitting the final version of the proposal is December, 1st. If you have additional comments/suggestions to its format and/or content, please let me know.
Suggestions already received, which shall be implemented, concern:
1) A stronger highlight of rotation, in the scientific rational;
2) A stronger highlight of atomic data, in the actual programme.
